The Freddy Mercury Mystery

When this song was released years ago many of us thought it was a "goodbye" song Queen wrote due to Freddy Mercury's battle with AIDS. BUT is there more? I think there is...this video was an elaborate creation! Throughout the video there are suggestions and indications that Freddy Mercury was "set-up" to acquire AIDS - to "scratch" him if you will. Below I will bring you through many of the lyrics and video evidence left to prove that this is far more than a goodbye song! I'm not going to post all the suggestions/symbols within the video because, I hope to stir up curiosity within you to investigate the video yourself. Symbol Breakdown: o
	Let's start at the intro: Freddy Mercury is opening a "closet" under the stairs Symbol: Closet Interpretation: The information is coming out of the closet top of page
	A clue at this frame: Frame 0:14: pictured are 3 genie like creatures - and behind them stands a dark figure with a cane walking away. top of page
	Verse 1: Frame: 0.25 Line 1: Empty Spaces - what are we living for Symbol: Horn Interpretation: A black marked Freddy toots his own horn top of page
	Verse 1 - Frame 0.31 Line 2: Abandon places - I guess we know the score. Interpretation: "I guess we know the score" suggests that although whoever set him up might have won because he contracted the disease, at frame 0:31 we see a picture of an enormous crowd gathered for Queen - Queen essentially spitting in the eye of the accused - proving how widely loved and accepted the band was - regardless of FM's sexuality. top of page
	Next Lines: Frame: 0:32 On and on Symbol: cage surrounds FM (frame 0:32) Does anybody know what we are looking for... Interpretive Answer: Could it be justice? top of page
	Frame: 0:37 Symbol: Steaming teapot on head Interpretation: great anger due to what happened and a gray area/// also references England. top of page
	Another hero, {Indicates Freddy Mercury} Another mindless crime Clue: At frame 0:42 there is a person's shadow on the wall - walking down the stairs. top of page
	Frame: 0:43 Symbol: tie is cut - I'll let you infer, but it is in reference to the mindless crime. top of page
	Frame: 0:45 Behind the curtain, in the pantomime - needs no interpretation - stated clearly Symbol: Court Jester Hat with 3 Bells Interpretation: jest-er and ringing top of page
	Frame: 0:52 Hold the line, does anybody want to take it anymore Symbol/Sign: Newspaper headline reads "They Never Had It So Good" Interpretation: Indicating motive coupled with hate/homophobia top of page
	Frame: 0:53 Symbol/Sign: Video depicts all members lying down in a bunk-bed/shelved setting - then leading into a powerful chorus. Interpretation: They aren't taking this lying down - they'll fight top of page
	Frame: 1:15 Chorus: The show must go on, The show must go on Inside my heart is breaking My make-up may be flaking Symbol: If you listen to this line you’ll clearly hear the sound of a needle scratching a record in the background and we see FM being strangled on stage. Interpretation: needs none top of page
	But my smile still stays on. Additional symbolism used within the chorus: Frame: 1:10 Black and red armbands could mean either Nazi like hailing formation or power. The colors are also significant and used throughout the video. top of page
	Frame 1:24) We also see one of the members with very long fingernails - which lines up with the previous needle scratching a record sound mentioned above. top of page

	Frame: 1:32 Another heartache another failed romance. Symbol: arrows pointing to his heart in a white setting Interpretation: It's what's in the heart that matters not his sexuality. White indicating innocence. top of page

	I can fly - my friends Frame 3:03 Symbol: At - there is a shot of a woman's eyes wearing a bandit's mask - her eyes are painted silver. Interpretation: Mask wearer indicates the accused - 2 silver eyes could mean that the accused sold out for 2 pieces of silver or indicates a betrayal. top of page
	The show must go on Frame: 3:06 Symbol: Large Crowd Interpretation: Video shows their victory proven by the number of fans. The show must go on Ill face it with a grin I’m never giving in On - with the show top of page
	Frame: 3:53 I'll top the bill, I'll overkill Lyrics Analysis: indicates he's speaking his peace with great fervor I have to find the will to carry on On with the - On with the show The show must go on... Symbol: Marilyn Monroe T-shirts Interpretation: suggesting a conspiracy. top of page
	Symbolic Ending: Frames: 4:05 to the end The video closes with: 3 genie like figures disappearing one by one. Freddy Mercury closing the closet door Making a slicing gesture with his hand, Then pointing to his head in gun formation. The gunned hand is wearing black and red armbands.. top of page
Ok, so are you a skeptic or curious? I'm not saying I read or interpreted all of these symbols correctly, but I believe I have enough here to prove that this is far more than a goodbye song. I hope you will investigate it for yourself as there are many additional symbols not explained here.
